Meet the New Owners: Mariah & Sam Sarver

Mariah and Sam Sarver are no strangers to weddings, events, or hard work. Both are Pastry Chefs who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 2008. They began their careers at the esteemed Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA, where they honed their craft working large-scale weddings, galas, and corporate events. In 2010, Sam pursued a career in public service and became a Maryland State Trooper, leading to a temporary relocation to Carroll County, MD. Mariah continued fulfilling bakery orders from home during that time. In 2012, Sam was transferred back to the Cumberland Barrack, where he still proudly serves today as a Master Trooper. That same year, they launched M & S Desserts and Bakery, which quickly grew from a home-based bakery into a bustling storefront in Keyser, WV. By 2014, they were leasing commercial space, and soon after purchased their own building as the business continued to thrive — even surviving the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the support of their loyal customers.

Mariah and Sam first connected with Shauna when they delivered wedding cakes to StoneBridge in its early days. A friendship blossomed over the years, and when Shauna began to think seriously about stepping away from the venue, Mariah and Sam were the first and only people she considered. Now, with full hearts and a shared vision, they have taken over ownership of the property and have officially rebranded it as The StoneBridge Manor LLC. To fully focus on this exciting new chapter, the Sarver's have made the difficult decision to close their Keyser storefront. They plan to relocate the bakery to the StoneBridge property and install a fully equipped commercial kitchen, ensuring they can continue providing the high-quality desserts and cakes their customers have come to love.

How It All Began: A Dream Realized

The dream of StoneBridge began more than 20 years ago, when Shauna attended a dinner at the estate as a guest of the previous owners. From the moment she arrived, she was captivated by its serenity, charm, and sense of timeless beauty. She remembers thinking to herself: “This would be the perfect place to have a wedding.” Each time she passed by in the years that followed, that quiet dream stayed with her. In May 2016, that dream became a reality when Shauna acquired the property and began transforming it into StoneBridge Events LLC, a wedding and special events venue unlike any other in the region. With decades of experience in healthcare entrepreneurship, business development, and education, Shauna put her creativity and leadership into the design and growth of the venue. The result was a space that became known for its warm hospitality, elegant charm, and unforgettable celebrations — a space where other people’s dreams could come true, just like hers had.
